The former head of the New York State Teacher Retirement System gets more than $260,000 per year via his pension plan (on top of his paycheck as current SUNY president) while another individual who worked with the Westchester Health Care Group has $205,000 a year pension. More than 1,300 New Yorkers made over $100,000, according to the report, which was released on Wednesday. F
ormer State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, who was convicted of fraud, gets a $105,000 pension and disgraced former Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno gets a $96,000 pension. The state paid out more than $7 billion in pensions in 2009 while New York state is facing a more than $9.2 billion budget deficit.
